Mark Machen – President/CEO
Mark Machen Bio
With over 30 years’ business experience in the service sector including telecommunications and energy services in competitive environments, Mark is co-founder, President and CEO of Blue Quail Energy Services. Prior to becoming part of the Blue Quail team Mark served as Vice President and General Manager for Grande Communications overseeing operations in the Midland, Odessa, Austin, San Antonio and Corpus Christi markets. Prior to Grande Mark held various positions within GTE (now Verizon) including Division Resource Manager in Durham, North Carolina. Prior to GTE he served as Director of Construction at Multi-Technology Services responsible for technological infrastructure within the Multi-Dwelling Community. He and his wife Ann have two grown children and live in Midland, Texas.
Tye Edwards – Vice President
Tye Edwards Bio
Tye brings more than 10 years’ experience in energy services. He is co-founder and VP of Operations. His career in energy services began with E-Tec Environmental as a site supervisor. Tye then served as Operations Manager for Caribbean Evaporation and Pump. His responsibilities covered multiple frac locations and water transfer crews within the Permian Basin. Prior to joining Blue Quail, Tye was the Operations/Sales Manager for Sweet H2O with responsibilities in Texas and New Mexico. Tye brings many relationships and abilities to the Blue Quail team. Tye has deep roots in the Delaware Basin area as he was born and raised in Pecos. He and his wife Dani have two young boys and they live in Midland.
Bryce Williams – Business Development
Bryce Williams Bio
Bryce arrived at Blue Quail in 2013 as Account Manager, and currently works in Business Development/Sales. Bryce brings an outgoing personality backed with integrity and character to the team. Prior to Blue Quail, Bryce worked at Patterson-UTI Drilling as Contracts Manager handling contract negotiations and increasing Patterson’s market share. Before joining Patterson Drilling, Bryce worked as a coach and teacher at Abell Junior High (Midland Lee System) and Midland Greenwood High School. He coached football, boys’ basketball, and boy’s track and field, while teaching Physical Education. Bryce and his wife Paige have two young kids and live in Midland, Texas. Bryce received his B.S. from Abilene Christian University in Exercise and Sport Science with a minor in Missions.
Charles Cassell – CFO
Charles joined the Blue Quail team in 2016 as Chief Financial Officer bringing a strong financial background focused on integrity, service and strategy. Charles has over 20 years of experience in energy services with both private and public companies. Prior to joining the Blue Quail team he was CFO at Nova Safety and Environmental via an acquisition of Team Co2 where he also held the CFO position. Prior to Team Co2 Charles was founder and CFO of Vista Transport and CFO of American Safety Services. Prior to serving on the American Safety Services team Charles held various positions with Interstate Battery including Corporate Development and advisor to the CEO. Charles and his wife Libby have three kids and live in Midland, Texas. Charles received a BA from Crichton College and his MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Carson Machen – Well Servicing Manager
Carson Machen Bio
Carson arrived at Blue Quail in September of 2015 as Well Servicing Operations Manager. Carson manages all Water Well Servicing Operations in the Permian Basin and our freshwater drilling rig fleet. Carson has six years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry. He brings organization, communication, and expertise to the Water Well Servicing division of Blue Quail. Prior to Blue Quail, Carson worked as a Lease Operator for Legacy Reserves taking care of more than 50 oil wells and 20 gathering facilities. Before Legacy, Carson worked at Concho Resources as a Lease Operator covering the Neal Ranch in Upton County, Texas. Carson and his wife Kristin currently reside in Midland, Texas.
Jesus Martinez – Water Transfer Manager
Jesus Martinez Bio
Jesus joined the Blue Quail team in 2012. He was quickly promoted to Water Transfer Operations Manager in November of 2013 due to his hard work, dedication, extensive knowledge, and loyalty. Jesus oversees the entire Water Transfer operation in the Permian Basin. Prior to Blue Quail, Jesus has a long work history in the construction industry. Jesus and his wife Evelyn have three young daughters and live in El Paso, Texas.
